Supporting Sustainable and Compliant Furniture Production at Graphtec Design

CEB supported Graphtec Design through environmental assessment, product testing, technical documentation and preparation for independent evaluation across three complementary areas: the EU Ecolabel, furniture product certification and Factory Production Control.

The engagement contributed to the award of three EU Ecolabel licences covering selected school-furniture products while also supporting Graphtec’s wider product-quality and production-compliance objectives.

Assesing materials and environmental impact

CEB analysed the materials incorporated into the selected furniture products and reviewed the evidence available for their composition, sourcing and environmental characteristics.

The assessment considered whether materials contained substances capable of negatively affecting the environment or human health and examined their use throughout the production flow. This included reviewing raw materials, components, finishes and other relevant inputs against the applicable environmental criteria.

Where additional evidence or testing was required, CEB helped define the necessary information and coordinate the next stages with appropriately accredited laboratories and independent bodies.
